What is dropshipping?
Dropshipping is a way of selling merchandise without having to stock or store any items. You would sell the merchandise at a cost you would determine. After the customer pays you for the item, you would then pay the supplier their price and send them your customers’ details. And they would send the product out to your customer, and the difference between your price and the suppliers’ price is your profit. This is known as dropshipping.
How does Dropshipping actually work?
Let's say you ran across an item on a dropshipping website for £30.00. You would sell that product for a price you would determine, let's use £50.00 plus an additional £3.50 postage and packing for an example. After receiving the payment of £53.50 from the customer and their postal address, you would then forward the £30.00 plus £3.50 postage costs to the supplier, and keep the £20.00 as profit, never having to touch or store the item, as the supplier sends it out to the customer. This type of arrangement can be beneficial to both yourself, and the supplier.
This is a great way to earn money, without start-up costs, no overheads, no packaging costs or headaches. Dropshipping is a great way to run a business without carrying stock.
